Creating additional Storage

Overview

This section contains information about the types of storage that inSync supports and also contains instructions for creating them.

About storage

Storage is a location to which data backed up from user devices is stored. It is created on a storage node. You can have multiple storage on a storage node. However, it is recommended that you create the least number of storage on a storage node. This helps you take advantage of inSync's data deduplication abilities and save space on your storage.

The size of a storage depends on various factors such as the number of users backing up their data on the storage, the average data being backed up by the users, type of data being backed up, and so on.

inSync Private Cloud supports the creation of two types of storage - block storage and object storage. You can also ensure the high availability of a storage by creating a secondary storage for it and configuring a High Availability Policy.
