About storage nodes
Storage nodes are servers to which storage are connected. When an inSync client backs up data, it first connects to the Master server. The master server determines on which storage the client's data must be stored and redirects the client to the relevant storage node. The client then sends the data to the storage node which in turn places it in the right storage.
