Overview

This topic explains the types of reports and contains instructions on how to view a report and the different methods on how to receive a report.

Types of reports

The report types that inSync supports are as follows:

Report Description
Active Alerts Displays the active alerts for the specified period. Active alerts are alerts that are yet to be resolved.
Alert History Displays all alerts generated by inSync for the specified period.
Failed Backups Displays all backup activities that failed during the specified period.
Last Backup Status Displays the status of the last backup taken from all devices during the specified period.
Restore Activity Displays all backup activities that took place during the specified period.
Sharing Usage Displays the statistics around the use of inSync share functionality.
Storage Status Displays the statistics and alerts for all storages during the specified period.
Complete Report Displays system information, license information, server statistics, and all other reports for the inSync setup.

Viewing a report

To view a report

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting Reports
  2. Click the report you want to view.

The report is displayed.

By default, the report for the last 30 days is displayed. The Period drop-down menu filters the report based on the options that are available in it.

Receiving reports

Downloading a report

You can download a report from inSync in either HTML or CSV format.

To download a report

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting > Reports
  2. Select the report you want to download and do the following:
    • If you want to download the report in HTML format, click Download > Download HTML.
    • If you want to download the report in CSV format, click Download > Download CSV.

The report is downloaded on your computer in the specified format.

Emailing a report to self

From inSync, you can email a report to yourself in either HTML or CSV format.

To email a report

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting Reports
  2. Select the report you want to email and do the following:
  • If you want to email the report in HTML format, click Email > Email HTML.
  • If you want to download the report in CSV format, click Email > Email CSV.

The report is sent to your email address in the specified format.

Scheduling delivery of reports

You can have inSync email you reports periodically in HTML or CSV format. The schedule you create will be specific to you and will not affect the schedule for other administrators.

To schedule delivery of a report through email

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting Reports
  2. Select the report you want to schedule email delivery for and click Edit Email Schedule. The Complete Report: Email Schedule window appears. 
  3. Check Enable Email Schedule checkbox and do the following:
  • Select a frequency for inSync to send the report. You can set the frequency to daily, weekly, or monthly.

  • Specify a frequency for weekly and monthly delivery.

  • Specify a time when you want inSync to send the report.

  • Select a format in which inSync will send the report.

  1. Click Save.
