How to configure inSync with Box?

Overview

You configure inSync to integrate with Box, so that inSync connects with your Box admin account and accesses the data of Box users that are associated with your Box admin account.

Procedure

To integrate inSync with Box,

  1. On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Data Sources > Cloud Apps. The Manage Cloud Apps page appears.
  2. Select Box cloud app, and then click Configure.
  3. On the Log in to grant access to Box page, enter the Box administrator's  username and password, and then click Authorize.

  1. On the next page that appears, click Grant access to Box

  2. inSync connects to your Box admin account, and can access data of all the users who are associated with your Box admin account. 

  3. (Optional) After the configuration is complete, you are redirected back to inSync, and you can see the Verify Configuration dialog. In the dialog, you can select a user from the organization to verify the inSync integration with Box. 

    Note: Provide an email address in the Select a user field. User Principal Name (UPN) is not supported at the moment.

After the cloud apps are configured, you can view the cloud apps configuration details at the Manage Cloud App Accounts page. For more information, see Manage Cloud App Accounts page.

After inSync integrates with your Box admin account, you can perform the following additional configurations:

Enable alerts whenever the cloud apps status changes

Overview

After you integrate cloud apps with inSync, you can choose to receive alerts whenever the cloud apps status changes.  For example, Not Connected.

Procedure

To enable the alerts for cloud apps status,

  1. On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click alerts.png. The list of all alerts appears under the Active Alerts tab.
  2. Click the Alert Subscriptions tab.  A list of available alerts is displayed.
  3. Select the Cloud Apps Status alert, and then click Edit. The Edit Alert Notifications window appears.
  4. In the Admins to be notified field, select the administrators who must receive the alerts. By default, the server administrators are notified about the alerts for cloud apps status.
  5. If any user action is required, select the Notify user check box.
  6. Click Save.

Reconfigure Box

Overview

When you reconfigure a cloud application, inSync stops all the ongoing cloud app backups. 

Procedure

To reconfigure Box,

  1. On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Data Sources > Cloud Apps. The Manage Cloud Apps page appears.
  2. Select Box cloud app, and then click Configure.
  3. On the confirmation message that appears,  click Yes.
  4. On the Log in to grant access to Box page, enter the Box administrator's  username and password, and then click Authorize.
  5. On the next page that appears, click Grant access to Box.

inSync connects to your Box admin account and can access data of all the users who are associated with your Box admin account.
