Add a New Customer

Overview

Using the MSP Management Console, the administrator can add and view new customers to the MSP Management Console. 

MSP administrators assigned access to create new customers can create Evaluation and Commercial customers.

Types of Customers:

  • Evaluation Customer -A prospect who is currently trying out inSync.
  • Commercial Customer - paid customer using inSync.

Add a New Customer

Note: You can create only evaluation customers. To convert a customer from evaluation to commercial, you must send an upgrade request  to Druva Support. For more information about sending an upgrade request, see Upgrade A Customer.

To add a new Evaluation customer

  1. On the inSync MSP Console menu bar, navigate to Customers. 
  2. Click Create New Customer.
  3. Enter the following details in the Customer Information tab:

     

    Field Action
    Organization name

    Enter the customer account name. 

    Note: If ConnectWise is integrated then select the organization name as from the drop down list.

    Admin Name Enter the administrator's name.
    Admin Email ID Enter the administrator's email address.
    I will administer the account Select this check box to auto-populate the other parameters with the existing administrator's details.
    Phone Enter the customer's phone number.
    Custom Identifier This field will be displayed only if ConnectWise is integrated.

     

Note: When a customer is created using the MSP administrator's email id, the MSP administrator is added as the default inSync Management Console administrator for the newly created customer. 

  1. Click Next. The License & Edition tab is displayed.
  2. Under the License and Edition tab, enter the following details: 

    Field Description
    Customer Type Displays the customer type.  
    Edition Select the edition from the drop down. The drop down list is based on your MSP contract with Druva. 
    Trial Duration This parameter is displayed only if an Evaluation customer type is selected. It displays the trial duration period options available. The license can be selected for a trial period of 7, 15 or 30 days. The license expiry date will be displayed according to the trial period selected. The Add-ons expiry date will also be updated as per the trial period selected.
    Data Sources & User Count This parameter is displayed only if the Edition selected is Enterprise, Elite or Elite Plus. On enabling a data source, corresponding users count will be enabled. Select a value from the drop-down list. The total number of users can be 10, 20, 50 (same as the total number of subscribed users).
    Total Subscribed Users Select the total number of users from the drop down list. The total number of users can be 10, 20, 50.
    Total Storage Displays the total storage allotted for the selected edition. The total storage can be either 50 GB per customer or unlimited.
    Preferred Time Zone Set the preferred time zone.
    Region Select the required Storage region. New customers can be created in AWS (Amazon Web Services) only.
  3. Click Next. The Add-on Details tab is displayed.

Under the Add-on Details tab, check the enabled add-ons to view the expiry date and other details. 
Based on the Edition selected, the following add-ons are available:

Business 
  • Enable Cloud Cache
  • Enable Share

Total Cloud Cache size allotted is 10TB

For Enable Share, the number of guests is same as the number of users created.

Enterprise, Elite & Elite Plus
  • Enable Cloud Cache
  • Enable Share
  • Enable Cloud Apps

Total Cloud Cache size allotted is 10TB

For Enable Share, the number of guests is same as the number of users created.

Note: You can select only those Add-ons that are enabled during MSP creation. When the base customer license expires, the related Add-on license will also expire.

  1. You can view the newly added Customer on the Manage Customers page. Click on the new customer name to view and verify the details. 

To add a new Commercial customer

  1. On the inSync MSP Console menu bar, navigate to Customers. 
  2. Click Create New Customer.
  3. Enter the following details in the Customer Information tab:

Organization name

Enter the customer account name. 

Note: If ConnectWise is integrated then select the organization name as from the drop down list.

Admin Name Enter the administrator's name.
Admin Email ID Enter the administrator's email address.
I will administer the account Select this check box to auto-populate the other parameters with the existing administrator's details.
Phone Enter the customer's phone number.
Custom Identifier This field will be displayed only if ConnectWise is integrated.

 

Note: When a customer is created using the MSP administrator's email id, the MSP administrator is added as the default inSync Management Console administrator for the newly created customer. 

  1. Click Next. The License & Edition tab is displayed.

  1. Under the License and Edition tab, enter the following details:
Field Description
Customer Type Displays the customer type.
Edition Select the edition from the drop down. The drop down list is based on your MSP contract with Druva.
License Expiry Displays the license expiry date. The license is valid for 30 days and can be extended up to three years.
Data Sources & User Count This parameter is displayed only if the Edition selected is Enterprise, Elite or Elite Plus. On enabling a data source, corresponding users count will be enabled. Enter a value for the data source users. On enabling another data source, its user count will reflect in the total user count.
Total Subscribed Users Enter the total number of users.
Total Storage Displays the total storage allotted for the selected edition. The total storage can be either 50 GB per customer or unlimited.
Preferred Time Zone Set the preferred time zone.
Region Select the required Storage region. New customers can be created in AWS (Amazon Web Services) only.
  1. Click Next. The Add-on Details tab is displayed.

Under the Add-on Details tab, check the enabled add-ons to view the expiry date and other details.

  1. You can view the newly added Customer on the Manage Customers page. Click on the new customer name to view and verify the details. 

Create customers directly 

An MSP administrator assigned access to create Commercial customers directly can create new Evaluation/Commercial customers. The access to create Commercial customers directly is granted to the MSP when the MSP is created.

The MSP administrator granted this access can:

  • Create both; Evaluation and Commercial customers
  • Convert an Evaluation customer to a Commercial customer after accepting the Terms & Conditions specified
  • Make any license update or add-ons update for an Evaluation or Commercial customer
  • Make any license update, change license expiration details, users, product editions or update add-ons after accepting the Terms & Conditions specified

To add a new Evaluation customer

  1. On the inSyncMSP Console menu bar, navigate to Customers. 
  2. Click Create New Customer.
  3. Enter the following details in the Customer Information tab:

  1. Click Finish.

To add a new Commercial customer

  1. On the inSyncMSP Console menu bar, navigate to Customers. 
  2. Click Create New Customer.
  3. Enter the following details in the Customer Information tab:

MSP can enter the total Cloud Cache size. By default,  10TB is allotted. 

For Enable Share, the number of guests as entered by the MSP.

  • Enable Cloud Apps

For Enable Share, the number of guests as entered by the MSP. 

  1. After selecting the required Add-ons click Finish. The  Terms and Conditions window is displayed. Click Accept to create the customer.

Note: You can select only those Add-ons that are enabled during MSP creation. When the base customer license expires, the related Add-on license will also expire.
