Overview

This page displays the total number of successful and failed restores, the total number of restore by types, and the total size of the restore per profile. 

Note: The information displayed is only of active user devices.

Access Path

On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Availability > Restore.

Search User

You can search for user information in inSync by typing their user name or email address in the Search box located at the top-right corner of the Restore Overview page.

Restore Summary

The following table lists the fields in the Restore Summary area.

Field Description
Successful Restores The number of restore activities that were successfully completed.
Failed Restores

The number of restore activities that could not be completed.

Note: Failed Restores count does not include restores canceled or aborted by inSync administrators and users.

Data Restored The total data restored using inSync.
Restores in Progress The number of restore activities that are in progress.

Restore Types

The following table lists the fields in the Restore Types area.

Field Description
Self Restore The number of restores initiated by users.
Admin Restore The number of restores initiated by the administrators.
Web Restore The number of restores initiated by the users through the inSync Web.
Mobile Restore The number of restores initiated by the users through their mobile devices.
# Restores By Types In a graphical representation, the number of restores distributed across various types.

Restore By Profile

In a graphical representation, the Restore By Profile area displays the top five profiles based on the number of restores made. For each profile total data restored is also displayed.

Restore Overview - All users

The filters are list boxes labeled All Profiles and All Storages by default. To view the users with a specific profile and from a specific storage location, select the profile and storage location as applicable from the filters.

Click the All Users tab to view the user wise restore details.

The following table lists the fields in the All Users tab.

Field Description
User Name The display name of the user.
Email The email ID of the user.
# Devices The total number of devices the user has configured with inSync.
Device Usage (% Quota) The data stored by the user and the percentage of user quota utilized.
# Cloud Apps The total number of cloud apps the user has configured with inSync.
Cloud Apps Usage The amount of cloud data that inSync has backed up for the user.
User Status The status of the user.

Restore Overview - Restore  Activity

The filter is list box labeled All Restore Status by default. To view the restore jobs based on the status of the restore activities, select the status as applicable from the filter.

Restore Activity tab

Click the Restore Activity tab to view the restore activities for the last 60 days.

The following table lists the fields in the Restore Activity tab.

Field Description
ID The job ID of the restore task. 
User The display name of the user.
Data Source The device name from which the restore activity was performed.
Time The time at which the restore activity was performed.
Mode The persona who performed the restore activity.
Restore Size Size of the data restored. 
Items The number of items restored. 
Status The status of the restore activity.

Restore Details

Click on the Restore ID to view the restore activity summary and details. The Restore Details page appears.

The following table lists the fields in the Restore Details page.

Field Description
Summary
Status

The status of the restore activity. The following status is displayed:

  • Restored Successfully
  • Restore Completed with errors
  • Restore Failed
Reason The reason along with the recommended action is displayed if the restore activity has failed or completed with errors.
User The display name of the user.
Source

Type of Data Source for which the restore is performed.

  • Devices
  • Cloud Apps (Exchange Online, OneDrive, Gmail. Google Drive)
Email The email ID of the user.
Mode The persona who performed the restore activity.
Profile The name of the profile to which the user belongs.
Start Time The time when the restore was initiated. This is as per the admin time zone settings.
End Time The time when the restore ended. This is as per the admin time zone settings.

Details

Total Items The number of items restored. 
Total Size The size of the data restored.
Total Items Missed The count of files that were not restored.

Note:  The following additional fields are displayed only for Exchange Online, Gmail, OneDrive, and Google Drive data sources within Cloud Apps.

Items A detailed list of the items that are restored.
Items Restored Successfully The count of successfully restored items.
Items Restored Size The size of the successfully restored items.
Items Missed The count of files that were not restored.
Items Missed Size The size of the data that was not restored.

Action

Action Description
Download Logs

Click the Download Logs button to download the Missed File Logs for the restore activities that are completed with errors.

Note: Displayed when there is a count for missed or failed items for a restore.

Note: The Missed File Logs will not be available for download if the user has enabled inSync privacy settings.
