Overview

This article provides you graphical information on the various entities on your inSync Dashboard page.

Note: Graphical information is displayed based on the inSync license your organization has subscribed to, and the administrator role assigned to your account in inSync.

For example, Legal Hold and Compliance information is displayed to you based on the following conditions:

  • Your organization has purchased inSync Elite or Elite Plus License.
  • You are a Cloud Administrator.

Recommendation

inSync Dashboard is best viewed in 1366*768 resolution.

Notifications

inSync, by default, displays notifications for important updates like recent Cloud Update and action like - second administrator is not configured. Notifications are displayed at the bottom-right corner on the inSync Management Console dashboard. Notifications automatically disappear after 20 seconds.

Search User

You can search for user information in inSync by typing their user name or email address in the Search box located at the top-right corner of the inSync Dashboard page.

Users & Devices

Users & Devices area displays information on the users, devices, legal hold policies, and compliance policies set up in inSync.

The following table lists the fields in the Users & Devices area.

Field Description
Users Active

The total number of users activated for backup and the total number of users created in your inSync setup.

For example, 25 / 50 indicates that you have created 50 users in inSync, but you have activated only 25 users. 

Licensed The total number of licensed users, that you can create in inSync.
Devices Enabled

The total number of devices activated and enabled for backup and the total number of devices that has inSync installed.

Cloud Apps Enabled The total number of cloud app accounts of users that are enabled for backup and the total number of cloud app accounts of users that are configured for backup with inSync.
Legal Hold Policies The number of legal hold policies created in inSync.
Custodians The number of users added to the legal hold policy.
Compliance Policies The number of compliance policies created in inSync.
Users The total number of users whose data is checked for compliance violations.

 

DLP Summary

 

The following table lists the fields in the DLP Summary area.

Field Description
Devices Traced The total number of devices that DLP is tracing. The location of the traced devices appear as dots on the World map.
Encrypted The total number of devices on which the backup data is encrypted.
Auto Delete Enabled The total number of devices on which the data in the backup folders is automatically deleted if these devices do not connect to inSync for a specific number of days.

Data Utilization

Data Utilization area provides information on the inSync storage utilized by your organization. The data utilization information is further classified by the following categories, which help you analyze the utilization:

The following table lists the fields in the Data Utilization area.

Field Description
Total Usage

Total data in inSync storage and the maximum data it can store.

For example, 2.61 GB / 500.00 GB indicates that 2.61 GB data is currently stored in the inSync storage although the storage has a capacity to store 500 GB of data.

Note: Total Usage also includes total data stored for Cloud Apps accounts.

Usage per User

Average amount of data stored by each inSync user.

Note: Usage per User also includes total data stored for Cloud Apps accounts.

Profile

Select Profile in Data Utilization area to view the storage consumption by profiles.

The following table lists the fields in the Profile area.

Field Description
Profile Name Name of the inSync profile.
Percentage Percentage of the total data stored by users associated with the profile.

File types

Select File types in Data Utilization area to view the storage consumption by the file types backed up in inSync.

The following table lists the fields in the File types area.

Field Description
File Type The list of different file types backed up in inSync.
Percentage Percentage of the total data consumed by each file type backed up in inSync.

Data Source

Select Data Source in Data Utilization area to view the storage consumption by data sources configured in inSync.

Field Description
Data Source Name The list of different data sources through which data is backed up in inSync.
Percentage Percentage of the total data backed up through each data source.

Backup & Restore Status

Backup & Restore Status area displays information on the backup and restore statistics for the activities occurred on:

Devices

Select Devices in Backup & Restore Status area to view the information of the devices in your network.

The following table lists the fields in the Devices area.

Field Description
Windows The number of devices running on the Windows operating system.
Mac OS The number of devices running on Mac OS.
Linux The number of devices running on the Linux operating system.
iOS The number of devices running on iOS.
Android The number of devices running on the Android mobile operating system.
Backed Up Successfully The number of devices for which the last backup was successful.
Backup Failed The number of devices for which the last backup failed.
Backed Up With Errors The number of devices for which the last backup completed with errors.
Inactive The number of devices that did not communicate with the inSync Master for a specific period or have been deactivated.
Never Backed Up The number of devices that were never backed up.
Total Restores (till date) The total number of devices restored till date.

Box, G Suite & O365  

Select Box, G Suite & O365 to view the backup and restore status for various Cloud Apps.

Note: Cloud Apps option is available for inSync Elite and Elite Plus editions only.

The following table lists the fields in the Box, G Suite & O365 area.

Field    Description
Box The number of Box accounts configured for backup.
OneDrive The number of OneDrive accounts configured for backup.
Exchange Online The number of Exchange Online accounts configured for backup.
Backed Up Successfully The number of cloud apps accounts for which the last backup was successful.
Backup Failed The number of cloud apps accounts for which the last backup failed.
Backed Up With Errors The number of cloud apps accounts for which the last backup completed with errors.
Backup Throttled The number of cloud apps accounts for which the backup paused due to throttling errors such as HTTP 429 or HTTP 510. 
Inactive The number of cloud apps accounts that did not communicate with the inSync Master for a specific period or have been deactivated.
Never Backed Up The number of cloud apps accounts that were never backed up.
Total Restores (till date) The total number of endpoints and cloud apps accounts restored till date.

SharePoint

Select SharePoint to view the backup and restore status for various SharePoint sites.

The following table lists the fields in the SharePoint area.

Field     Description
Backed Up Successfully The number of SharePoint sites for which the last backup was successful.
Backup Failed The number of SharePoint sites accounts for which the last backup failed.
Backed Up With Errors The number of SharePoint sites for which the last backup completed with errors.
Never Backed Up The number of SharePoint sites that were never backed up.

Usage Trends

Usage trends area displays information for the following:

Dedupe Savings

Select Dedupe Savings in the Usage Trends area to view the savings on your bandwidth, based on the data transferred.

The following table lists the fields in the Dedupe Savings area.

Field Description
Dedupe Savings The percentage of bandwidth saved based on the data transferred.
Total Data The total data that is generated.
Data Transferred The actual data transferred over your network to inSync Cloud.

Activities

Select Activities in the Usage Trends area to view:

  • The distribution of activities in 24 hours based on backup and restore activities that occurred over the past 30 days. It helps you understand the activities during a particular hour in a day.
  • The backup and restore activities that are in progress.
  • The data is displayed is as per the timezone of inSync administrator.

Field Description
Live Endpoint Backups The number of backup activities that are in progress on Endpoints.
Live CloudApps Backup The number of backup activities that are in progress on CloudApps.
Live Restores The total number of restore activities that are in progress.

Note:

  • Pending restore requests older than 30 days are not displayed on Live Activities page.
  • Pending restore requests older than 30 days are automatically canceled by inSync. Information about such auto-canceled requests is available in Restore Activity report.

Sync & Share

The following table lists the fields in the Sync & Share area.

Field Description
Share Users The number of users who are using the sharing functionality.
Guest Users The number of guests and the maximum number of share guests. For example, 2 / 25 indicates that  2 out of 25 guests are using Share. 
Share Usage The amount of data in the inSync Share folder of all the users.
Usage Per user The average size of data in the inSync share folder of all the users.
Share activity over last 90 days In a graphical representation, the number of folders and download links shared by the users in the last 90 days.
