Reset the password for a user

Procedure to reset password for inSync Cloud users

  1. On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Users.
  2. Select the user whose password you want to reset.
  3. Click More > Reset Password. The Reset Password window appears.

  4. (Optional) Update the subject and body of the reset password email.
  5. Click Reset Password.

inSync sends an email that contains the new password to the users.

Procedure to reset password for inSync GovCloud users

  1. On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Users.
  2. Select the user whose password you want to reset.
  3. Click More > Reset Password. The Reset Password window appears.

  4. (Optional) Update the subject and body of the reset password email.
  5. Click Reset Password. inSync sends an email with a link to reset the new password to the inSync GovCloud user.

This link is valid for 24 hours. If the password link expires before the password is reset, the inSync GovCloud administrator can resend the invitation email.

The following image illustrates the contents of a sample email.

The following entries are generated in the Audit Trails for the user under All Activities:

  • inSync GovCloud administrator initiated a reset password for another administrator
  • inSync GovCloud user password reset successfully
